The rapper Nelly has got a great heart. He is a daring personality who believes in the proverb “actions speaks more than words”. He is a great supporter of education in the black community. In the wake of the Mike Brown Shooting and Ferguson, protest in 2014, the black celebrities were invited to speak against the injustices in their own people. Many celebrities speak out the protest and injustice to support black community but Nelly remained silent and decided to let his actions speak do the talking. He personally visited Ferguson and created a scholarship fund in Michael Brown’s name for the support of education. Besides that he sent two students to collage on scholarship every year for the past 10 years.

In his interview with Hello Beautiful Nelly spoke about his concern about the black community in which he has declared education as the most important factor for the betterment of youth. “I try to do it through education because that’s the only way we’re going to get it. The only way we’re going to get this is to elevate,” Nelly explained in the interview. Famous quotation of Nelly in which he emphasizes on the important of education, “We have to get the kids to go out of these communities. Graduate. Get the knowledge. Come back to the community, and then they can run it because they understand the people and understand the severity of the situation.”

Men like Nelly are the real role models for our society who are not only concerned about the problems facing African Americans but also take strenuous actions to help people in general.
